Tamang Society of America (TSA) celebrates its 8th Annual Barbeque Picnic at Flushing Corona Park on Sunday, July 18th, 2010. Lately appointed board members, State coordinators and members of youth group were introduced to the mass of people along with some entertaining events like: sack race, musical ball, breaking soccer piñata, frog race etc. Those events included all the ages of people from children to adults. Tug of war: Youth vs. Adult was one of the events which brought both youth and adult together in the field. Raffle and Bingo was another two big events where Dell laptop “Inspiron mini” was first prize and Apple iTouch 8GB was Second prize. Mr. Indra Tamang beat everyone’s luck and won laptop as first prize while Prashant Tamang from Boston was able to win Apple iTouch as second prize. To put an end to the excitement, awards and certificates for “Encourage Your Kids” event were distributed to all those who performed well and those who participated respectively.
Youth Group seemed busy in volunteering with distinctive Red T-Shirts, while adults were busy roasting the marinated chunk of chicken legs and beef loaf. Besides barbequed meat, the picnic was full of different variety of traditional food: goat meat, chicken curry, pulaw (special fried rice), pickle, Shel Roti etc.
